Francesca Tasini is an Italian actor and screenwriter based in Berlin. She hails from a multi-disciplinary background, including production, writing, physical theatre, clowning, acting, and stand up comedy, and brings all of these influences into her projects.

In 2022, her series project UNCLEAN, based on her own experiences of working for a well-known social media company, was selected for development in the prestigious female Screenwriter Lab Europe, supported by Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman, which fights sexism and ageism in TV and Film. The following year, UNCLEAN won the award for Best Pilot at the 2023 Filmarket Hub Awards. Francesca is currently working with Creative Producer Jalessa Jones (formerly of Entertainment One US), and producers Alberto Rull from Vertice 360 (Spain) and Anthony Alleyne from Born Wild (UK) towards making UNCLEAN a reality.

In 2020 Francesca wrote and directed her first short film Lola, an LGBTQ+ production which was selected for more than 20 festivals around the world, and broadcast by Weshort and Shorts TV. Lola has subsequently been picked up by Norwegian producer Oda Krude from Kruela Film for development into a full-length feature film.

As a screenwriter Francesca studied at the Film Arche School with Dan Calvisi, Christina Hamm, at Sundance Collab, and at the Master School Drehbuch.

As an actor and casting assistant, Francesca has worked on many projects, most recently as actor and casting assistant on the short film Mångata, directed by Maja Costa, and supported by the European Space Agency. Mångata has been selected for film festivals such as the Toronto Black Film Festival, and the Berlin Independent Film Festival. Other recent acting roles include lead in the short film Decostruzione dell’Amore by director Laura Nai.

Alongside writing and acting, Francesca freelances in education as an acting and screenwriting coach, and as a theatre pedagog, having graduated in Educational Sciences at the University of Bologna.

After Bologna, Francesca continued her studies in theatre and physical theatre, circus, and performing arts at the Galante Garrone Academy in Italy, and at the Dimitri Theatre Academy in Switzerland. Other studies followed with John Strasberg, Jordan Bayne, Susan Batson, Pierre Byland, Philippe Gaulier, Sabino Civilleri, Emanuela Lo Scicco, and Nicole Kerhberger.

Francesca has worked as an actor and performer on screen and in theatre, with directors such as Juan Diego Puerta Lopez, Jan Lauwers, Dimitri Clown, Teatro Magro, André Casaca, Philippe Minella, Daniel Bausch, Brian Reinholds, Bruno Colella, Giambatista Assanti, Patrizia Siclari, Andreas Linke, Maja Costa, Julien Magnan, Dominik Hardlt, Fabian Kimoto, and other artists such as Basma Alsharif and Laura Nai.
